One of Jessica's favorite things to do was to take a plate lunch to the beach at the old airport and watch the sunset. She and Malia had sat there together many times and talked about what they wanted to do in life. Jessica admired her friend's ability to work towards goals in her life—something Jessica always seemed to lack. She missed her best friend but was grateful for the time they’d had together growing up.
Malia's death hadn’t been for nothing. It forced Jessica to make a plan for her life and to get to work on it. Fighting the evildoers of the world was now her goal in life.
When dusk came, the sunset reflected off the cumulus clouds in streaks of reddish yellow and dark purple. It was like a painting that filled the entire sky. It was the most beautiful sunset Jessica had ever seen and she was sure that Malia was somewhere painting it on a canvas that reflected across the Kona sky for Jessica to watch.
